See that old man?
Every woken moment is spent in a drunken
stupor,
Nothing is worth living for except for the
bottle,
Sleeps on the street and begs for drink money,
But
for the grace of God, I could be there too.
See that young man?
He is oblivious to the world around
him,
For his eyes only see the visions the drugs,
Allow
him, and he believes that's the "cool" way to be,
But
for the grace of God, you could be there too.
See that middle aged women?
Or is she young? One can't really
tell,
She tries to hide behind her make-up and smile,
As
she tries to pick up, yet another client,
But for the grace of
God, we could there too.
See that group of scruffy people?
So poor they can't afford
to help themselves,
They pick and scrounge to stay alive,
And
one has to wonder why,
But for the grace of God, all of us could
be there too.
It is really time to care, to help and understand,
It is time
to let all of them know,
That with the grace and love of
Almighty God,
They don't have to be there.
