Loneliness In A Big City

How can it be,
In a city of three million,
A person can be so lonely?

How can it be,
In a city of plenty,
That so many can go so hungry?

How can it be,
In a city of fifty square mile
That so many sleep on the street?

How can it be,
That in a city of high society
A person can be so sad?

How can it be,
In a city of big hospitals and clinics,
A person can die of cold?

How can it be,
In this modern day and age,
Nobody seems to care?

How can it be,
In a city of beautiful churches and chapels,
That so many have no faith?

How can it be,
In this city of a billion pounds
A person cannot pay his bills?

How can it be,
In this city of so called law and order,
So much unlawfulness and disorder can exist?

How can it be,
In this city with so many pretty women,
That prostitutes still walk the street?

How can it be,
That so many care so little,
That so little is done, to help
A person reach the best of his ability,

It can be better,
It has to get better.
That is the way it is supposed be.
